Publedia vs Hootsuite for small teams and creators
How Publedia and Hootsuite compare on price, networks, team features and what each is built for, with sources for every Hootsuite detail, as of September 2026.
Hootsuite and Publedia both schedule and publish social posts, but they are built for different buyers. Hootsuite is a broad suite for marketing and customer care teams, priced per user. Publedia is a publishing workspace for creators, small businesses, in-house social managers and small agencies, priced per plan. Every Hootsuite detail comes from Hootsuite's own pages, listed under Sources, as of September 2026.
The short version
- Choose Hootsuite if you are a team that needs social listening, an inbox with message assignment and routing, trend forecasting and enterprise governance, and the budget for per-user pricing.
- Choose Publedia if you mainly need to plan, adapt and publish posts across eight networks, want automations and AI agent access without per-user pricing, or are a small team where a per-user price would be most of the budget.

What that means in practice
- One person, eight accounts: Hootsuite Standard is $99 a month billed annually. Publedia Pro is $21.99 a month ($16.99 billed yearly) for 8 accounts and 30 posts to X a month.
- Three people, fifteen accounts: Hootsuite Professional is three seats at $199, or $597 a month billed annually, because Standard stops at 10 accounts. Publedia Ultra is $39.99 a month ($29.99 billed yearly) for 15 accounts, 3 seats and 60 posts to X a month.
Publedia's plans also cap scheduled posts per month (150 on Pro) and posts to X per month (5 on Basic, 30 on Pro, 60 on Ultra, unless the workspace connects its own X developer app), where Hootsuite's plans list unlimited scheduling. And Publedia's paid plans are free during its current preview; the figures above are list prices.
Networks
Hootsuite's publishing page lists scheduling for TikTok, Threads and Bluesky, and its integrations page lists Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Pinterest. Publedia publishes to eight networks: X, YouTube, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Threads.
Two differences worth knowing:
- Bluesky video: Hootsuite's publishing page says Bluesky posts can include a video. Publedia publishes text and up to four images to Bluesky, but not video.
- LinkedIn: Publedia publishes to personal LinkedIn profiles only, not company pages.
Publedia's exact limits per network are on its supported platforms page.
What each is built around
Hootsuite is built around a team working the whole of social: publishing, a shared inbox where messages are assigned to people, listening for brand mentions and competitors, forecasting trends, and reporting on team performance. That breadth is the reason for its price, and it is worth it to a team that uses it.
Publedia is built around the publishing job: write one post, adapt it to each network with live previews and each network's own character counting, put it on a shared calendar, and get told clearly when something fails and what to do next. Around that it adds:
- Automations: flows that publish from a folder, an RSS feed or other apps, write drafts with AI on a schedule, or reply to comments, with approval steps where you want them.
- Repost lists and repurposing (Ultra plan and up): evergreen posts that rotate on a schedule, and long videos turned into clips you approve.
- Workspaces: a separate workspace per client or brand, each with its own channels, files and members.
- AI agents over MCP: keys with read-only, drafts or full-control presets for Claude Code, Cursor and similar apps.
- Inbox (beta): comments on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and X.
Teams
Hootsuite sells seats: every person is a user on the plan, and review, approval and message routing come with the Advanced plan. Its Professional plan also automates inbox replies and workflows, and every plan lists an in-app assistant and MCP connectors. Publedia includes seats in each plan (3 on Ultra, more on the quoted Business and Agency plans) and gives each workspace member one of three roles: admin, editor or viewer.
Where each one is stronger
Hootsuite is stronger on listening and trend tools, team inbox workflows and inbox automation, enterprise governance, network breadth, unlimited scheduling, and a long track record with large teams.
Publedia is stronger on price for small teams, adapting one post for eight networks, publishing automation and repost lists, repurposing long video, and per-client workspaces. Both offer MCP access for AI agents; Publedia's differs in granting it through read-only, drafts and full-control key presets.
Questions to settle before you choose
- Who will use it every day? If it is one or two people publishing, a per-user suite charges for capability they will not touch. If it is a customer care team answering messages all day, the inbox routing may be the main reason to buy.
- Do you need to hear what people say about you, or mainly to publish? Listening and trend forecasting are Hootsuite's territory; Publedia does not offer them.
- Which networks are non-negotiable? Check both tools' current lists against yours, including the details, such as company pages on LinkedIn or video on Bluesky.
- How much of the work repeats? Recurring posts, feeds and evergreen content are where Publedia's automations and repost lists save time.
- Will AI agents work with your account? If so, check how each tool grants and limits that access.
Switching from Hootsuite
- Create a Publedia workspace (one per client, if you manage several) and connect the accounts from Channels.
- Rebuild recurring content as repost lists or automation flows.
- Move scheduled posts across a week at a time, and let each Hootsuite schedule run out before you disconnect it, so nothing goes out twice.
