Connect your social accounts
How to connect X, YouTube, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Threads to Publedia, and what each network needs from you first.
A connected account is called a channel in Publedia. You can connect accounts on eight networks: X, YouTube, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Threads. Each connected profile, page or channel counts as one connected account toward your plan.
Connect an account
- Open Channels in the sidebar and select Connect channel.
- Choose the network.
- Sign in on the network's own screen and approve access. Publedia never sees your password.
- You return to Publedia, and the account appears in your channel list as Connected.
You can also connect an account from the composer: open Create post, select Choose channels, and pick Connect a channel at the bottom of the list.
What each network needs
Each tile on the connect screen names what that network connects, which is where most surprises come from.

Facebook and Instagram
Facebook publishes as a Page, never as a personal profile, and you choose the Page while you connect. Instagram's publishing access only works for professional accounts (business or creator). If your Instagram account is personal, switch it to a professional account in the Instagram app first; it is free and takes a minute.
LinkedIn connects your personal profile, the account you sign in with. LinkedIn access lasts 60 days, so the channel needs a new sign-in about every two months. In the week before, the channel shows as Expiring soon on the Channels page; there is no separate reminder, so check it there. See reconnecting a channel.
Bluesky
Choose Bluesky and type your handle. Publedia finds which server your account lives on and sends you to its sign-in screen, so accounts on bsky.social, on a custom domain, or on a self-hosted server all connect the same way. There is no app password to create.
YouTube
Sign in with the Google account that owns or manages the channel. If the account has more than one channel, choose the one to connect on Google's screen. Each channel is a separate channel in Publedia.
How many accounts you can connect
Your plan sets how many accounts the workspace can connect: 2 on the free Basic plan, 8 on Pro and 15 on Ultra. An admin can see how many are in use in Settings, Plan and usage. One profile or page on one network is one account: an X profile, a Facebook Page, an Instagram account and a TikTok account are four.
Who can connect accounts
Workspace admins manage channels. Editors can publish to the channels that are already connected, and viewers can see them. See workspaces and team roles.
Organise your channels
When you have several brands, clients or regions in one workspace, put their accounts into channel groups. In the composer you can then pick a whole group at once. See channel groups.
If connecting fails
- You land back on Publedia with no new channel. The approval on the network's screen was cancelled or timed out. Start again from Connect channel.
- Instagram will not connect. Check that it is a business or creator account.
- Facebook shows no Page. You need to be an admin of the Page on Facebook.
- You have reached your plan's limit. Disconnect an account you no longer use, or ask an admin to change plan in Settings, Plan and usage.
Disconnecting or removing an account
Open Channels and open the menu beside the account. There are two ways to take it away:
- Disconnect ends Publedia's access but keeps the channel listed, with a way to reconnect it later.
- Remove takes the channel out of every list. Posts that already went to it keep their history.
Posts already published stay on the network either way. You can also withdraw Publedia's access from the network's own settings; the channel then shows as needing reconnection.
